I'm on my second iPad 4 as the first one was replaced by Apple with a dead screen that looked like this:

It initially was triggered when I pulled the ipad out of my Logitech Ultrathin keyboard cover -- when you heard the magnets click into place the screen turned to static, until eventually the screen was like that permanently.

Thing is, now my replacement iPad's screen is starting to die like this, too.

I know it's highly unlikely the keyboard cover is responsible, but it's the only constant between the two iPads so I figured I'd throw it out there.

Anyone?

I am having the exact same problem after connecting an Apple smart cover, heard the magnet click and screen just went. Need to phone apple tomorrow, one month out of warranty too. But as it is their product that caused the fault hopefully they will fix it as a good will gesture.
