Anyone have experience with Renderman? I always thought MentalRay was better, since Renderman cannot compute raytracing and radiosity.

Not in my line of work unfortunately. :( Good to hear that it is going to be available for OSX as well as PC though:)

What was RenderMan previously? I thought it was always a renderer for Maya.

The "new" product is a plugin instead of a standalone program. It was announced 15 months ago (http://renderman.pixar.com/products/news/rfm1.0.html) :D

[Edit: I see, it was in beta all that time! release thingy (https://renderman.pixar.com/products/news/rfm1.0_launch.html) ]

Ah, I first heard of RenderMan ~12 months ago, so it was probably the same thing :)

In other news, I insist that you change your avatar
