It runs 10 continuous hours of iTunes movies. So.. yea, a lot I would say.

Ensure you are in the html5 trial on youtube.

Not only that but YouTube is a continuous stream whereas an iTunes movie already on your computer wouldn't need to access the internet constantly.

The new flash, doesn't if it's video and it uses standard flv video files.. Certain flash ads can take up tons of processing, as can certain videos. But most of them are hardware accelerated and take much less processor power. (I am watching a youtube video and it is using 2.6% of the processor.
