it seems that one of my PB batteries is has a much shorter life than it used to. It has a capacity of 4981 according to "ioreg -l -w 0 | grep IOBatteryInfo".
I can only get about 1.5 hours out of it, rather than the 2-3 I got when it was new.
I guess question one is how do i know the actual state of the battery by the above terminal commands (what is the info telling me)?
two, what are some good sources/mfg for aftermarket batts? or should I just stay with Apple?

did that. didn't seem to help. I'm going to give it another cycle before I make a move, though.

the cycling should help a bit (even if you have to do it 3 or 4 times) but if you end up needing to buy a new battery check out the Batteries by newertech (http://www.newertech.com/powerbook) they get much better life than those apple supplies.
