Apple previews the iPhone 5 last September, people are like "this phone is too skinny, it'll bend easy, the new lightning port is a waste of money, why is the headphone port on the bottom" etc...etc..

Now, people love the iPhone 5 and it was very hard to get for like 5 months unless you lived in a rural area.

Same thing will happen with iOS 7.

Thank you for the insightful comment. We shall be sure to forward this to Apple.

Kind regards.

That's true...but a LOT of changes came from the iPod touch.....like the Music and Videos app being separated etc... xD (iOS 6) and the Headphone jack thing...The screen was easy to adjust to personally for me..

I forgot to put a closing sentence because I was laughing at the fact I said lightning porn instead of lightning port, and I have a toothache.

But just add this
"So Apple really has nothing to worry about, they will draw criticism at first, then people will praise them for "innovating" and making iOS less stale.

The iPhone 5 was a very good update, very professional albeit relatively safe.

They targetted almost all areas for improvement and aside from the initial chipping issues, it's been practically flawless for me.

I have zero complaints other than I'd love the option of have a bigger screen size to choose from, like 4.7" or so.

We can already judge the success of iOS 7 by the number beta users.

If *only* devs actually bothered installing the beta then Apple should be very worried. ;)

I agree, the fact that the number of non-developer users is a good sign for the success..

Or, possibly, a good sign of curiosity.

Or, I-gotta-be-first behavior.

Or, now-I-can-gripe-on-MR-about-the-icons

Or, now-I can-gripe-about-instabilty-of-a Beta

Or, now-I can-pretend-to-be-a-dev

Or, just an outside possibility that it is a sign of popularity...but I wouldn't bet the house on that one... ;)

I agree 100% with that as well! I see a lot of complaints about bugs, battery life etc...

It happens every release. This isn't a display of insight.

People complaining about the OS will download it and then you'll have the goofs who start threads about how they went back to iOS 6. Those same folks will go back to iOS 7 when they find out they can't run some of the latest apps or something like that.

Rinse and repeat ... every iOS release.

The iPhone 5 was probably the most uneventful iPhone update ever.

Id say the 4S was, IMO. All I took from it was a Siri upgrade. I expected a different look then, but all it was is the second point to start the iPhone #S line every other year. A 5S release this year would be similar to the release of the 4S, also confirming the S pattern by apple (if they so choose to follow it in the future)

People expect a new iPhone to walk on water. Apple improved upon a lot of areas that I think are very important.

- Bigger (and better) screen
- Better colors / calibration (huge deal IMO)
- Much lighter
- Much thinner
- Better speakerphone
- Better noise cancellation
- LTE Support
- Lightning adapter (yes, I consider this a positive...love the ease of access)
- Upgraded internals / camera

What more do you want from a yearly update?

Definitely the "I-gotta-be-first" behavior.

People expect it to walk on water, because the marketing geniuses at Apple portray it to do so. Don't blame the consumer.

Absolutely blame the consumer. Why is it okay for someone to go out, spend upwards of $700+ without having any clue what they are buying, only to complain about it.

lol my friend this is literally every single apple product release, most notably the iPad. It's actually very amusing to see everyone run up and grab these products only months after criticizing them.

Nope, the 4s was. 3gs wasn't all that different either. The 4 is my fav iphone transition.

The only one I complained about was the iPad. Granted I was like in a cave the year it was announced but I was like "why would anyone need an iPad if they have an iPhone and a laptop????" and now I have one and it's just ok. Nothing really groundbreaking but the screen size is nice. I could definitely live without it, like I did for 5 months when my first one got stolen.
