Before I describe the problems here are the specs: 1 ghz G4, ATI graphics 32 mb, 768 RAM, Superdrive, 80 gig HD. I have that model that came out right before they put on usb 2.0 (no new ipods here till new computer). Well I've been having display problems for awhile, and they may force me to use an old pc, but I was hoping for some help. To start, the problems get worse at increased resolutions. At 1024 I get horizontal lines (faint) that run the whole display. I also have the problem of the waves at the bottom left corner of the display that so many have. The worse problem is when i go max resolution. The display becomes what can best be described as unsteady. It almost appears to be shaking. I've thought it could just be my eyes, so i've blinked to refocus, looked away and looked back, and have even looked at a TV to see if I see the same effect. It is only on the eMac. What could be causing this problem(s). I know it is kinda on the older side (two plus years) but i can't afford another computer and would really like my eMac usable. Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this... and a good estimate of cost (not looking for exact numbers, just ballpark figures please) for repair(s). Thanks in advance.
