So i have been trying to reset my sister's MacBook Pro, as much as i hate mac, i need some help fixing this mess of a computer. I have followed countless steps to change the password of an admin account that has been left there, leaving her not able to make any changes on the PC.
Firstly Command R dosen't have any response on the PC,
I followed these steps: http://www.macyourself.com/2009/08/03/how-to-reset-your-mac-os-x-password-without-an-installer-disc/
With the Command S technique, and did nothing up the the point of launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.DirectoryServices.plist
Said something along the lines of "No such file" or "No such directory"
then i thought, hey why not try the last technique of "Tricking your Mac into creating a new user account"
Which screwed everything up, i did exactly what the steps said, now whenever i start up the mac it comes up with "Setup your server", when i obviously do not want a server to be setup. Please help me.
