When you select an Audio Device, in the bottom right corner sub-window you can adjust the level for each channel. The devices I am dealing with are all 2-channel. In the aforementioned corner sub-window I see the expected Channel 1 and Channel 2. In addition to those two channels, there is also a channel M. It is placed above 1 & 2 in the sub-window. I can't seem to find anything in the Apple Documentation for Audio Midi Setup that explains what Channel M is, so I have decided to pose the question to the experts in this forum.

Thanks in Advance For The Answer,
