I have two apple TVs in my house, one in my room and one in the den. My friends thinks it's hilarious to mess with the apple TV in my room while they are elsewhere in the house. Is there any way to only allow my remote app to work with my apple tv?

Settings -> General -> Remotes -> Pair Apple Remote.

Pairing your Apple TV and the remote ensures that your Apple TV will be controlled by only one remote. For example, if you have several Apple Remotes or several IR-capable devices in the same room, you may not want your Apple TV to respond to each remote.

Thanks for the quick reply guys! I'm looking for a way to pair the apple TV in my room with the remote app on my iphone only. I tried pairing it to my iphone but was still able to control it using someone else's iphone. Thoughts?

I think the problem is that you've given your friends full access to your WiFi network. So they can see any shared computers, etc., and can also see your ATV via the Remote app on their iOS devices. If you can set up a separate guest network on your router and only give them access to that, then I don't think they'll be able to see your ATV anymore. They'll basically just be able to surf the web and check email. If you want to give them more access (e.g., ability to view your iTunes library or something), then there may be no way to give them that level of access while still keeping your ATV private.

They can only control your Apple TV if you enable Home Sharing on their device using your Apple ID. So maybe turn off home sharing. Or log out of your Apple ID on their device. Probably not the best idea to enable home sharing with your Apple ID on your friends' devices.
