Every time I swipe to go back to a previous page, instead of showing what it was originally, Safari reloads it. Chrome never did this to me. Is there a way to turn it off?

Nope.. that is just how Safari works. What you are actually seeing when you first go back is an image of the whole page... then that goes away after the refresh. I agree it is annoying.
