This may be a stupid question, but I'm really not very computer savvy.
This morning I had to give a speech performance before a class, and I recorded it from my computer in garage band.
Later, I went to listen back to it. The audio file was there, I listened to it for a couple minutes, then stopped the track playback, double clicked on the track to add some effects to enhance the sound (compression, a little reverb, etc.). I listened back for about ten seconds, liked what I heard. I turned to a friend for 30 seconds, turned back, and the track was gone.
To my knowledge I did not delete it by accident, but I could not swear to it. Here's the strange thing: I noticed that the 'paste' selection under the edit menu is emboldened, as if there was something waiting to be pasted in the program, but whenever I click 'paste' nothing happens.
Earlier today, once, some sort of file did paste onto the track, but read 'file not found'. I've been careful to 'not save my changes' whenever I exit the program.
It's not a HUGE deal, but I would really appreciate any knowledge or advice on possible file recovery, because it's really special to me that I get that audio back.
Any ideas?
