Hi Guys,
I'm wondering how the VLC issue was resolved,
and what the story is currently regarding the use of GPL code in the App Store.

Is it a matter of don't ask, don't tell?
Because I'm aware of several low profile apps that are currently using GPL code,
one of which is two years old, and complying with GPL in every way other
than the binary distribution via App Store (DRM) issue.

Anyone have any experiences?

I have gone the difficult route of acquiring permission from all contributors,
but what if I want to import another contribution?
It seems this would be difficult to maintain over the long term just to cover all bases.

Cheers, Art.

The code is now dual licensed under the MPL: http://thenextweb.com/apps/2013/07/18/vlc-for-ios-will-return-to-the-app-store-on-july-19-full-re-write-open-source-licensed-under-mplv2-and-gplv2/

So this is not a generic solution for included GPL code unless you can get the owner to do the same.
