Hi all,

Just updated (OTA) my iPhone 4S and iPad mini with beta 5, and tried to switch off/on these devices.

Beta 5 is very long to boot on these two devices !

Anyone else ?

My iPhone 5 boots up VERY slowly on beta 5. And no, not just the first boot. Any cold boot takes around a full 2 minutes to load the the lock screen.

Edit: just timed it. 2:24. Thats crazy slow.

Booting my iPhone 5 is very very very slow. I thought it's bricked. But I've waited and the lockscreen came up after 2 or 3 minutes.

I just tested on my new beta 5 install on my iPhone and iPad.

VERY VERY fast, better than any launch times I've ever had on both devices.

Reset all settings, then turn off turn on. Should be alright after that.

Boot time iPhone 5 boot time: 1:59
iPad mini boot time: 2:29

I'm thinking beta 4 boot times were faster, but I'm not really sure.

OTA for both 4 and 5.

Bootup on B5: 178 seconds
Bootup on B4: 48 seconds

No change in amount of free space so it's not like I added more apps or music.

And also made sure nothing was in multitasking area.

I wouldn't restore yet, as your numbers are way off for Erase all contents and having a wiped out device.

I'd reinstall from iTunes, clean.

One minute is way too long to be normal...

You're probably right but after resyncing everything (not from backup) I'm still at 59s for a cold boot. Not ideal but much better than before. If I have any other lingering issues I'll do a full IPSW restore but it'll have to wait until tomorrow.

I just did a hard boot (hold home+power) and it took just over 1 minute. Not sure if that's good or bad since I don't do it very often, but it seems like it should've been faster.

iPhone 5, updated OTA from beta 4 to 5.

I'm not too worried about it so I won't be reinstalling just yet. Just adding to the data pool.

Did the 2nd fresh install on my iPad 3. Still, the boot time is outrageously slow, 3 minutes, I can't put up with that ...

Those of you with the slow boot issue: Do you have your devices registered as developer devices?
Have you tried resetting all settings and trying again?

Yes, I have a developer account and still have this issues. I am performing right now a 'Reset' for settings as someone mentioned on another thread
