So I decided to sell my Macbook Air, but I have a couple of documents that I want to erase securely.
I've read different things from different sources.
My question is, is there any way to erase securely an SSD without damaging it?

And if so, say I erase the "Macintosh HD" partition securely, will the Recovery partition still work on it?

If it is just a couple documents, can't you just secure empty them in Trash. Just command-right click.

If you want to make sure the entire drive is wiped, the easiest way is to turn on Filevault, then after the encryption is completed just do a option-command-r boot to Internet Recovery and erase the drive in Disk Util then reinstall the default OS.
