I downloaded the Disk Speed Test app by BlackMagicDesign and my speeds will usually average:

Write 320 MB/s & Read 700 MB/s

I've seen reviews talking about both being 700 MB/s, so why then is my write speeds capping out at 320 MB/s?

Here's an article by a guy who found a massive difference in write speeds between two mackbook air's he got as well (one being a Samsung SSD and the other being a Marvell SSD) (http://blog.macsales.com/19008-performance-testing-not-all-2013-macbook-air-ssds-are-the-same)

Did I get a dud? Should I be concerned about this? Is that write speed normal for others?

If it's the 128gb version it's normal.

Nothing to do with the brand, simply due to higher density: more speed.
