I spend a lot of time in Photoshop, and many times, I'll need to open a png file from Spotlight (sometimes by searching "width:2048 height:2048", for example).

My dock stays hidden, but I've discovered that if I mouse over the dock to bring it up, then Command+Space and do the search, I can drag the file from the search results to the Photoshop icon and it will open in the app. However, if the dock isn't showing, it won't appear when I drag out of the spotlight results to the bottom of the screen.

It's a minor thing, and it takes about another 2 seconds to pull up the dock and then do the search, or open in Finder and drag from there, but over the course of the day, it can really mess up my flow.

Does anyone know of a way to open a file in the app it's not set to default to from Spotlight?
