I was just wondering if it's possible to use DDR2 RAM like those in the new powerbooks, in normal DDR slots like those in the iBooks

Nope, Nyet, Ohi, Nein, Non.

DDR-2 is electronically and physically incompatible with DDR

Nope, DDR SODIMMs and DDR-2 SODIMMs both have 200 pins, but the key is spaced differently. You are thinking of DDR DIMM 184 pin vs. DDR SODIMM 200 pin vs. DDR-2 DIMM 240 pin

Regardless, a hammer should fix that problem.

Yup..thanks for the correct info...just the normal sized DIMM's have more pins and less spacing;)

Regardless, a hammer should fix that problem. That was a hacksaw to modify the key spacing ...

Don't you remember the PCI-X discussions for the G5 and making some of the PCI cards fit in the PowerMac G5. ;)
