I have an external drive that holds video for use in Plex. The volume holding the media was created under 10.6 on an iMac. That iMac has been replaced by a Mac mini running 10.8, to which the drive is now attached.

I'm having difficulty accessing this drive via AFP from my MacBook (sometimes I can access it, sometimes I get network permission errors), which is also running 10.8. When I add the volume to the File Sharing preference pane, the "Users" column is blank... I don't get the option to adjust who has access to the volume. Very odd, and I'd imagine it's the root of my trouble.

I should note that I don't have any AFP troubles accessing a volume that was created on the Mac mini. Both the Mac mini and my MacBook are running accounts with the same username. Any thoughts?
