I have for sale a 20" Apple Aluminum Cinema Display. This monitor is in perfect condition and comes in the original box. It's been used very lightly since I got it. No dead pixels and bright backlight.
I'd like $650, or partial trades for the following items:
-5G iPod
-PSP
-Any variant of the HTC Wizard(K-Jam, etc.)
-HP hw6500.
-Bluetooth GPS hardware
-Xbox 360
Thanks!

I'm sorry I've been delayed in responding. For some reason I'm not getting email notification of new posts even though I subscribed to the thread. I will start responding to all the posts. Thanks everyone for your patience.

Your timing is probably pretty good on getting rid of this display - the new Apple displays are imminent (the new 20" iMacs already have them), so you'll probably be able to get more for it now than a month or so from now.
Good luck with your sale/trade!

What's different about the new iMac screens? They're the same resolution and the looked the same in the stores.

The iMac's 20" display is now brighter and has twice the contrast ratio of the 20" cinema display.

oh ok. I guess I couldn't see the difference under the lights in the store.

Yeah, it's not one of those things you would probably notice right away. From a technical standpoint though, the screen definitely is better. So, since Apple has these screens, it's only a question of when they will release the new displays themselves - MWSF? If not, then soon thereafter is my guess.

My bet is that it will not be a public announcement, but they will just begin to sell the displays with the new panels.

It depends if Apple decides to improve other features of the displays as well. If it's just the panels, sure, maybe no need for a big announcment, but if there are other updates (specs, size, price drop) they will probably make a formal announcement. Also, if you have seen the new 20" iMac's display compared to a Apple 20" display in an Apple Store or where ever, you'd notice the difference, so perhaps that is something worth mentioning from Apple's point of view.
It also depends exactly how much Apple has to announce at MWSF. If they don't have a lot, they could make time to showcase the new displays -however, I highly doubt Jobs will have a lack of things to talk about during the Keynote. ;) As a result, look for new displays shortly after MWSF, is my guess.
