Does anyone know how to connect an iPod to the stereo. I see a few ports in the back and apparently (I think/heard) that you have to buy a cable to connect the iPod. There is a "Line In" port and I was wondering if this was it. If so what cable do I need to get for this to work?

I have no knowledge of audio devices apart from throwing in a CD and hitting play, so Thanks! :D

You'll get the best signal from using an iPod dock with line-out jacks to your line-in on your stereo.

The headphone socket on the iPod (as well as being noisier) does not perform that well due to impedance and voltage mismatching leading to degraded audio quality.

You can try it though. Turn the EQ off and watch the volume level out from the iPod. You'll need a shielded audio lead with a stereo mini headphone plug at one end and two RCA plugs at the other.

The same lead can be used with the line-out from the iPod dock so you're losing nothing by trying this first — just don't expect it to sound wonderful, that's all.

Wish I had a dock but I've been using my iPod fine without one. I'm guessing that the "shielded audio lead with a stereo mini headphone plug at one end and two RCA plugs at the other" looks something like this-

Just to be sure- I plug in the 2 RCA plugs into the "Line In" port and the headphone plug to my iPod correct?

Yes and yes... turn the volume on the stereo down to 0, plug the iPod in and start it playing, set your stereo's volume control to about 1/4 way, set the volume on the iPod until you get a signal without it clipping (distorting). Then adjust the volume on the stereo to your liking.
