Hi,

my mom's friend had a power surge at their office and his imac graphite's monitor does not turn on! The computer seems to turn on like normal, but the monitor stays black. There was a surge protector connected through the computer. Any advice, thanks in advance!!!

There are many reasons this could be happening, most of them meaning at least moderately expensive repairs. Check with the company that makes the surge protector, many times they're liable for damages incurred while using their product... Of course, even if they are, it's gonna be a lot of hassle. Your only real option at this point is to take it in for repairs and hope not to get overcharged--

I got a surge protector and they say they are liable for all surge related damage to the aparatus. They put an upper limit but it was like £5000-10000. As for the imac, you just friend some internal part. Only thing to do is get it fixed.
