(One new piece of potential ammo is a new survey from Consumer Reports, which indicates that only 8% of Mac users have detected spyware in the last six months, versus 54% for Windows users).
Not this again.

Then there's the possibility that Apple could itself come out with a dual-boot Mac, capable of running Windows as well as OSX. Apple has said it won't do this, and I can understand why. From a user experience point of view, I just don't believe it can be done without a big performance hit, or without sacrificing the Mac's trademark simplificy and elegance.
What's he talking about? Dual boot and performance have nothing in common. Apple will never say/market "Buy our computers to run Windows!" That's just plain stupid.

I did like his proposed slogan at the end of the article: "Finally, it's Apples to Apples."

There is no Mac spyware, yet 8% of Mac users think they have detected it. Surprising? No. 8% of people also think they have detected aliens reading their thoughts.

That's too true. For instance, my department just deployed a "new" billing software program for managing employee hours. It was purchased over five years ago by someone who apparently didn't do their research. At the time, the software was acknowledged as completely unusable crap. It was just deployed in the past three weeks. The specs as I see them are:
Java, browser based
Does not work with Firefox, Safari, Mozilla, Netscape, Opera, Camino,
Only works with IE (4 and up)
Gives me three more employee numbers (ID, Job ID, Deparment Job ID)
Can record negative work hours if you are not careful.
Only works on one computer in my entire department.
Crashes when it generates more IE windows (which it is required to do).
Requires a printout of entered hours to be signed by supervisor for approval (not quite paperless).
The University apparently spent millions on this program and is embarrassed not to use it.
Our old method was: fill out timesheet, get signed, hand in. Now its: enter hours when the computer is available, repeat as often as the program crashes, print timesheet, go back to lab and get signature, go back to administration and present time sheet.
All this because the tech sector has a job for any and everyone.
