That leads to two known issues and one possible problem.

The issue issue is that the iOS app for each publication would have to be re-written for OS X. The second issue is would there be enough new subscribers from that for it to be worthwhile to port and maintain the app?

The possible problem is what format are the periodicals in? Something that is iOS specific? Or just something that needs an application on OS X to read it. If it needs to be converted to a different format for OS X that also adds into the question of if it's cost effective or not.
