Oh believe me :apple:TV is quite a bit better than the 360 as a media center. I used to use Connect 360 and :apple:TV absolutely wipes the floor with it...

I sold my crappy :apple:TV 160GB because of streaming problems and have a 360 to stream my content now .. works fantastic! 1080p..

Plus all I paid was $20 for the software. I have used/seen the Apple TV, and it is nice. I could not find a reason to spend the money and stop using my 360.

I use my :apple:TV to stream media every day. It works great -- but yes I use ethernet. The 360 is hardwired too. I don't trust wireless for anything other than basic internet use on a laptop.

I tried my 360 for media viewing, but it's just too limited. I didn't spend a lot of time with it, but it seems to not support folders. When you have nearly 2 TB of video, not having them in folders kind of sucks. With the :apple:TV, I can point it at my mounted server share, and that's it. Also, it's a lot quieter than the 360.

Here's where my 360 lives:

Yeah, those are my wife's :)

I've got flat LED lights from Ikea on the underside of those shelves. My Harmony remote automatically turns them on (via X10) whenever you're watching something on the TV.

Yea, I stole his idea for the lighting on my set up. You just can't tell on the crap cellphone-camera picture. :p

Are these the JONAS desk (with drawer) and MALM drawers? If so, is that the birch or oak finish?
