I like to fill my iPod with DJ music. My favorite DJ is Sammy. I don't find Tiesto or Paul Van Dyk any good... for now. I like the liveliness of Sammy's tracks. My current favorite DJ track is D'amour Toujours by Gigi D'Agostino. I know it's cheesy, but it's has a really good beat to it.

Here's a video if you want to hear it for yourself:

I have loved DJ Sammy ever since I heard "Heaven." It's still on iTunes' Today's Top Songs in the dance genre.

They have really pulled their act together - expecially a Mr. Chris Moyles:

You can search him in iTunes for his PodCast - it really is worth listening to! He really does make people in the UK laugh just before they get into work in the mornings!

Gigi D'Agostino is classic - but you're right, a little bit cheesy. I'll fly with you is a great track though.

Why don't you like Tiesto? In Search of Sunrise III was pretty good, I thought.

Check out Way out West - Intensify. That is a GREAT album.

I don't really know why I don't like Tiesto. Maybe it's because he's one of the most popular DJs. I know Sammy is popular, but I personally like his music. Tiesto's tracks are like... I don't know. I'll try to get into him. I could have gone to that one concert he had earlier this year in Los Angeles. Maybe I should have went.

Is this a poll? If so my favourite DJs in no particular order are:

Adam Beyer
Adam Jay (he's on this forum who woulda thunk it?)
Adam Sheridan
Sasha
John Digweed
Mistress Barbara
Paul Oakenfold
Markus Schulz
Mateo Murphy

Gotta love the DJ sets and PAs.

What is Sammy like? I've never listened to his music before. I'm more into melodic trance instead of straight beats (like house or drum and bass) so that's probably why I like Tiesto's sunrise series.

Oh, so you've never heard the song Heaven before? It's like his all-time best hit. If you want to hear his other best, check out; Sunlight, Boys of Summer, Cheba, and Why. He mostly does remixes. Heaven is a dance remix to Bryan Adams' song of the same name. I'd say his genre is progressive dance and trance.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Armin van Buuren.

I used to be the biggest Tiesto fan there was. His early mixes like Forbidden Paradise 6 and the original In Search of Sunrise were absolutely amazing. His latest stuff just doesn't really work for me. Nyana was filled with awful tracks, and though the first CD of In Search of Sunrise 4 has decent tracks, the transitions suck.

If you're looking for great tracks mixed well, you should check out A State of Trance 2004 and 2005 by Armin van Buuren. I got to see him mix live in Minneapolis this October, what a night that was.

If you guys like DJ Sammy type stuff, you should maybe look up DJ Doboy. Happy/cheesy stuff too (I'll admit that once in a while I'll like that stuff too :P ).

Hernan Cattaneo is my favorite. He really has a great ear in placing the perfect song at the right time. His transition from song to song is tight. Sasha is pretty good, but I'm a little disappointed with his latest efforts. Other DJ's to consider...

Pete Tong (Godfather of Electronic Music)
Danny Rampling (Grandfather of Electronic Music)
Paul Oakenfold (old Oakenfold before 2001)
John Digweed (I met him on NYE eve last year, he is great)
Junkie XL (Amazing beats, very energetic)
Tiesto (I hated Tiesto for the longest time, just because he was so popular, but after listening to his stuff, I have to admit, this guy is talented)
Armin Van Buuren (Great techno)
Gabriel And Dresden (Up and coming superstars)
Mark Farina (Not really techno, but very groovy electronica)
Andy Hughes (dark progressive trance)
DJ Dan (amazing sampler)
Tall Paul (saw him live in LA a few years ago, and I've been hooked since)
Ben Watt (half of Everything But The Girl, has a knack of combining spoken word with atmospheric trance).
