iPads to see iOS 7.1? that seems unlikely to me because wouldnt we have to have betas already for 7.1 out and release in october along the new ipads? I could see the iPads shipping with 7.0.1 though and 7.0.2 come out a few months later or so. 7.1 to me seems like it wont be out till next year like 6.1 was.

I'm guessing 7.0.1 will arrive fairly quickly, 7.0.2 arrive in October and 7.1 will arrive in the Nov to Dec time frame so iOS 7 is fairly polished for the holiday buying season. Just a guess.

It could be something like this:
iOS 7.0 - on Wednesday
iOS 7.0.1 - several days later (end of September/early October at the latest)
iOS 7.0.2 - Just in time for the iPad event (so mid to late October)
iOS 7.1 - Mid December to early January

7.1 will likely launch with the new iPads. Who knows, 7.0.1 or 7.0.2 may never launch.

Also possible, but who knows. Last year, new iPads launched with iOS 6.0, and 6.1 was released almost 3 months after (with 6.0.1 and 6.0.2 in between). This year, seeing as the iPad version of iOS 7.0 isn't quite as polished as the iPhone's (15 seconds to change the wallpaper on iPad 4 for ex.), they could release 7.0.1 shortly after the 18th to address those smaller bugs.

I think they are off. x.1 isn't usually for new hardware, usually adds new functionality to the iOS, sometimes new hardware. This person is thinking along the lines of Apple's Mac line, not iOS.

7.0.1 or 7.0.2 with iPads this year.

7.1 will bring iOS in the Car next year.

I'm running the GM build on both my iPhone 5 and iPad mini, and some bugs still persist. But only very very minor ones. (More on my mini than iPhone).

I've submitted the odd bug report to Apple who have replied a number of times, and I'm sure I'm not the only person to be doing this. We'll probably see a 7.0.1 sooner than we think!
