So, I updated the iP5 to iOS7, but I'm not sure if the parallax effect is enabled. It seems like the wallpaper (which is one of the default iOS 7 ones) is moving, rather than the icons. They don't really have that "window" look which I've seen in some videos online. Does anybody know if there's a way to fix that?

Yeah, the wallpaper is definitely moving, not the icons.

Mine is nearly unnoticeable but it's there.

But the phone straight up in front of you and tip it away from you. Take note of the distance the icons are from the status bar.

It's there but it's very subtle, as it should be - otherwise it would get really annoying really quickly. I think the Apple videos exaggerated the effect for demonstration purposes.

Easily the most pointless expenditure of programming hours ever.

Does it make IOS faster?
Does it make battery life longer?
Does it make using the phone easier?
Does it make the user more productive?
Does it give the user more information?
Does it give the user better information?
Does it reduce the chances for a system crash?

Uh, no.

But it's slightly entertaining, so it has that going for it. :p

Form over function...unfortunately the same reason that is behind a number of other similarly unnecessary changes as well.
