I have a MacBook Air that I use for school and the battery doesn't even last all day. I was under the impression that these computer's battery is meant to last all day. I have attached a screenshot that shows the information.

Can you find, and post, a single online article stating the 2012 Airs supposedly get all-day battery life?

This one says 5.5 hours under a light workload, 4 hours under medium workload and 2.4 under a heavy workload.

Your expectations are unrealistic, as they were never designed or advertised to last all day. There are many factors that impact your battery life. See the BATTERY LIFE FROM A CHARGE section of the following link for details, including tips on how to maximize your battery life.  The link below should answer most, if not all, of your battery/charging questions. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend you take the time to read it. Apple Notebook Battery FAQ (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=9875442&postcount=23)

By all day I mean a whole school day. (5-6 hours)

Still, your assumption is just a tad unrealistic. Assume four hours, that's the middle range and what you can most likely expect from the 11-inch. Now, the 2013 Airs, on the other hand... "All the power you want. All day long." ;)
