Or can you? With all the talk of improving the look of the OS, why do I still have to have the names under the apps? I know what the icons are.

Or is there something burried in iOS 7 that I'm missing?

TIA

There's no way to remove the app names from below the apps.

You may be able to remember them, but think about the general public. That would be a nightmare for some, especially those that download new apps all the time.

It might be a good option for the future, but Apple likes to keep the experience consistent for everyone, so I doubt it..

Yeah no. I think I vaguely remember being able to do this on my Droid a while back. Confused the hell out of people. :D

I'm not saying get rid of them altogether, just give me the option. And yes there are ways to do this with android (both rooted and stock with an overlay).

Seems to me this could be a simple switch in accessibility. But I guess for a consistent user experience they won't give up that control

(Very much like the insufferable zooming icons. I really like a lot about 7 but there are some things that seem more "wow" and style over substance. Tell what really does the zoom effect do for the OS?)
