1080p HD TV as a Mac monitor?

It has a DVI input, so I'm guessing it could.

(Incidentally, does anyone here know if US HD televisions can be used in Europe? Is there still some kind of PAL/NTSC divide?)

For the price go for the 23" Apple display, or the 24" dell monitor. the TV you are looking at only has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 while the 23" apple monitor has a slightly better resolution of 1920 x 1200 what this means is the TV will make everything look really really big. like stretching the 23" apple monitor to the size of 37"

though i guess if you use it for more entertainment purposes such as watching TV through a TV card or watching DVDs mainly then it would be a good deal, but trying to type or edit pictures would be kinda odd. would make a good screen for a 'digital hub' sort of mac. . . heh since that has been in the rumors recently

My guess is I'd need the scalable UI rumoured to be part of Leopard - otherwise the UI text might be illegibly small at typical TV-viewing distances.

I just purchased the 32 inch Westinghouse model (only $900). Have not been able to hook my laptop up to the DVI port because I don't have the right cable. I'm waiting on a DVI-D cable which has been on the FedEx truck for the last three days. I did hook up my 12 inch power book using S video and the screen was a little soft. I think this was do to the S video resolution not matching the navtive resolution of the LCD. I'll let you know what I see as soon as the DVI cable arrives.

Hope to buy a mini media center in January for this TV
