I'm sure many are having the same issue I am with the App Store app. On my iPhone 5 it will show updates that aren't there when you open the app. I am still running iOS 6.1.4 and have no interest in upgrading to iOS 7 yet, and wonder if Apple will fix this issue for those of us with iOS 6. I really don't want to have to upgrade to iOS 7 just yet, I don't like the pastel colors and unpolished look, I'm a grown man and not a 13 year old girl, my phone should reflect my maturity level. The majority of people I know with iOS 7 wish they could go back to iOS 6. The sense I'm getting is that Apple didn't test this upgrade as well as they should have.

Also, in my opinion the iPhone 5 C & S are huge let downs, minus the finger print reader. Apple products aren't as simplistic and "just work", as they used to be.

So there's a 4 or something on the icon and less than that listed available upon open?
For instance, I see the app shows I have 3 updates waiting (red circle with 3 in the middle of it). But when I open the app, it says "All Apps Are Up to Date", with nothing to update.

I've quit the App, restarted the iPhone, even did a sync. From what I've read on the forums, many others are having this same issue.

From what I've discovered a few days ago; the moment an update is released for an app, it will show the notifications in or on the AppStore app and when you enter the Appstore it disappears. I went back in a few times and the symptoms reoccurs, approx 3 hours later the app is ready to download through your iDevices on iOS 6.

On iTunes if the update is ready, you can download it right away and plug in your iDevices to sync.

Personally, I double check for the icon artwork now and some devs are even worse than Apple's with their icon change. I've attached a before and after screenshot, "before" is the pic of one of my home screens.

I really don't want to have to upgrade to iOS 7 just yet, I don't like the pastel colors and unpolished look, I'm a grown man and not a 13 year old girl, my phone should reflect my maturity level.

Yes sir, you're 101% correct.

the reason is that app store will show new ios7 compatible updates on older firmware however when you do the update check within the app store itself, it will only check for the latest legacy version which you most likely already have installed.

That's not entirely correct, I got the Facebook 6.5 and 6.5.1 update 3 hours later via AppStore iOS 6

I've experienced the same though quitting the app at that point and restarting it has corrected the issue for me so far.

New versions of app are pushing out now, may require iOS 7 and I just tested the Legacy App Downloads, working smoothly for iOS 6

But I don't want iOS 7 apps, I don't even want iOS 7! I'm sticking with iOS 6 and only want to see iOS 6 updates.

No way for the apps. No more ios6 updates. You are stuck with what you have or last released ios6 version.

The Devs who are really intelligent and want to blanket the entire ecosystem would make their latest update or new apps compatible with super old iOS versions.

Sick of it

Well personally, I'm sick and tired of the notification icon reading anywhere from 6 to 12 every few hours. Pretty sure by now, they know I'm using 6.1.3, so no updates needed.
Tried everything listed here. It's a bug, and should be dealt with. It never happened with the other iOS updates.
Yeah, I'm feeling put upon.

I'm having the same issues as well...it's not earth shattering, just a major annoyance...going in to check for updates erases the number, but it pops back up soon enough...and, yeah, feeling a bit put upon too

The problem appears to be with evernote for me that was the only one app that didn't appeared. So I removed it and now count is correct.

I believe you are right. I had a persistent "5" badge on the App Store icon. Now it's "6". Yet when I go to update the store says I'm up to date. I can live with this indefinitely though.

I can't stand it, yet refuse to update to the new iOS. Every time we turn around Apple is forcing our hand. Apple keeps changing things and not necessarily for the better. Just fix the things that are broke and stop redesigning.

For the past few days, I've noticed the AppStore doesn't have the app updates for iOS 7 pushing for iOS 6 devices anymore.
