Quicktime 6 & imovie2 on Lombard

When I try to use imovie 2 with QT6 on my Lombard with a Ratoc firewire card, I get message that Quicktime Firewire DV is not installed, cannot access camera. I've tried new copies, et al. The correct ext's are in the ext folder. I don't get it. Any geniuses out there???????
