Buying a new iMac or Mac Mini with 27" display. I'm in Japan so options are limited if you can believe it. Today I only found the IODATA GV-M2TV. It's good for Mountain Lion but don't know what will happen with Mavericks.

Has anyone tried this model before? Any other recommendations?

Compatibility usually means if the channel guide software correctly displays that regions channel line-up right? If someone doesn't care about that would any tuner do?

Never tried it but I've only always favored Elgato. I would try that.

Also, you're not new here, don't cross post, it's incredibly unnecessary.

But they only have 2 products now. Some huge TIVO type thing and the small USB mobile stick.

I just want to connect the cable from my wall into a USB type device and watch those same channels.

This one looks good but don't know if they're going to support Mavericks. Doesn't say on their site. PLUS they have a CD for the software. New Macs don't have CD drives
