Mail not working properly after upgrade

I am currently using Mail for my Gmail account. Before, When I would read or delete messages on my iPhone, it would reflect that activity on Mail.. After upgrading to Maverick it no longer does this. All of the messages that I read on my phone show up as unread, and same thing with deleting them.

How do I fix this?
