And your profile will not get "deleted," just you can't log in anymore.
Your posts will remain.
Really, I was under the impression you could not delete posts because it would cause issues in many threads since people would be replying to posts that did not exist anymore.
I read this in the FAQ.

There's a lot of things that can be done... just depends on various factors. Although I've been outta the loop for a while... who knows!
