Plug in Printer=New Printer... HELP!

Ok... I've got a problem, with my moms PowerBook running on 10.3.9. I also have connected to it an HP Deskjet 5150. Everytime my mom boots her computer or plugs in the USB Cable it adds it as a new printer even though it is already installed. Eventually, you have 5,000 "HP Deskjet 5100" installed. Its not the computers fault becuase when I plug in a different printer it only adds it once... not 5 thousand times! :mad:

Anyone have a simalar problem/solution?

PS- HP's support sucks for Mac.

Did you try using the CD to install the printer driver instead of just plugging it in and using OS X's driver?

I've tried the CD, Driver from hp.com and Mac OS X's driver... same thing happens. :(
