OK. So i just bought a BT keyboard (apple official keyboard) from John Lewis. I opened it up, and it had a sort of cardboard overlay on top. Just like the one you get with the powerbook that says designed in CA. In the box it had one with the keyboard on it, but It wasn't the same one that I had bought. It had the same font as the ibook one. it looked pretty odd. I've scanned it. sorry about the orientation.

no, the font is different. look on the apple pro keyboard out now. its a sort of italic classic font. the new one is quite modern

as long as the letters arent raised so they scratch off easily like they do on the ibook
cool.

The fonts just look centered.
My BT keyboard letters are on the bottom left corner whereas the keys shown in the pictures are centered like my Powerbook.

The fonts just look centered.
Yeah, and they seem a bit smaller to me.

Ooooooooooo. I'm not at my Mac at the moment but it does look like it's changed. The infinite loop is missing from the command key and the Option & Control keys look different. The font looks like it's changed and has been centered too.
The tab and shift keys have changed as well haven’t they?

That must be a US not UK keyboard. There is no £ sign on the 3 key and the modifier keys have names rather than symbols. There are also several keys in different positions.
(applemax, I'm assuming you're from the UK because you mentioned John Lewis)

I have the BT Keyboard (US version), and it doesn't look like this. Indeed, the font is different, and the infinite loop is missing as well.

Yep it is different.
Page up & Down are clearly labeled rather than the symbols on mine, same with home and end.
Also DEL doesnt have the symbol under it like mine.
In fact it just seems more sensibly explaining buttons. clearly spelling out which is shift or control and c ommand. It looks great for newbies who would struggle to work out what keys are which.
The fact that theres no pound sign or euro sign suggest to me it may be a new look US keyboard..
The font is non italic too. I like it :)

I think the smaller and centered font makes it look 'cleaner' and give it a bit of an updated look (even the arrows are different-- sorry if someone already mentioned that). I like it tooooo! :p

Completely different main 'enter' key as well, it's been split into two. Mine has the classic inverted 'L' taking two rows, this just has the one and a new key for '\'
That and all the symbols have been replaced by text.

This should show it a little better.
Also, just looking at the size of my keyboard - how big is your scanner?

Also, just looking at the size of my keyboard - how big is your scanner? :eek:Yeah, that "return" key is huge. I wish I had those shortcuts on my keys though. I like the old "Home/End" and "Page Up/Page Down" though. And the arrows.

That is all? I thought you were going to say that you found a dead mouse in the box or something. Yea, a wireless mouse.

It's different and it looks a bit better, but the infinite loop is gone! That's been there since 1984 and is still used in menus! Also, Option needs its menu symbol on the key. This confused me to no end when I switched.

If you turn the keyboard over, what is the model number? Mine is "A1048".
