The iPod levy was an asinine program. Just like paying extra levys for blank CD-Rs. Total and utter BS. Glad to see they've issued refunds.

Good to see that they're donating the unclaimed refunds to the Red Cross rather than just putting it back in their pockets. Bravo Apple. :)

that's a nice thing of apple to do though, I got my iPod before a tax levy was placed onto the iPods, even though it was annouced a few months earlier that there would be a tax, it's nice that the tax is long gone, what I've noticed within the last year ever since the levy was taken off the iPod and other mp3 players, the prices of blank CDs/DVDs have really came down, got a 25 pack of DVD-Rs for $8, pretty cheap (esp in Canada) IMHO

It is a very nice gesture on the part of Apple. The levy should be adjusted to the extent that a platform is part of the answer and not the problem, though.... Apple should be levied less, to the extent that evidence suggests iPod users use online legal music avenues more than users of other players....
