In any event, the proverbial "King of the Hill" remains the 4GP resolution from a drum scan from film in the GigaPxl Project (www.gigapxl.org/), which gets its performance IIRC by having a 9.5" x 18" original :D

i feel i'm about 4 or 5 years away from such technology being my possession as professional need ... right now i'm okay with my 6 - 10 MP SLR equipment for the kinda of work i do and level at which i am at
