This is like chickens fighting for scraps.

Be funny if Apple came out with an iPod accessory that renders their products obsolete in no time.

:D

You mean, the RiPod? The iPod with built-in radio tuner? <off to the patent office>

It's sickening how many lawsuits are flying around these days.

What's really sickening is how these patents get awarded in the first place.

What's next? A patent for a cable that charges and transfers data? (hey Apple, check if it's been patented, you could sue everyone else)

I agree.

...and all that could have been.

As I said on that page, they already threatened DVForge with the same back in May. Ironically DVForge even offered the whole design to DLO with the hope that DLO would manufacture and market it. At that time the iPod photo didn't fit in any of these FM/car solutions, so it would have been a hit.

And I've boycotted DLO since then, because I own a 40Gb iPod photo!

They can skirt the patent by not including the charger. But the patent only covers transmitter/charger accessory for iPods/mp3 players with a firewire port.

"An MP3 player accessory kit, comprising an FM transmitter and power supply/charging assembly as in claim 1, and at least one power adaptor/charger for said FM transmitter and power supply/charging assembly."

"The sound system of claim 12, wherein the MP3 player includes a firewire port."

I don't see the problem. In fact, I filed three patent applications last week

- a method of extracting oxygen from ambient air for the purpose of supplying an organic system, and returning waste byproduct carbon dioxide to the atmosphere
- a fluid-based transport system for carrying oxygen and nutrients to organic tissues, and returning waste product from same. The transport system can also be utilized to transport defensive modules to sites in an organic system where security may have been breached by incursion of a foreign object or objects
-a method of removing solid waste from an organic system. Included is a claim for a novel valve system to ensure that the flow of solid matter is unidirectional.

I think someone is gonna owe me big time.

I think I owe you according to breach of your third patent. As for due to uncontrollable laughter, I had a failure of the aforementioned novel valve system.:o
