I bought this about a month ago when I took my 3G in for repair (new battery, etc.) at Best Buy. Frankly, I like my old 3G iPod more, so I'm selling my new video iPod when the old one comes back. I did buy the 3-year performance service plan, which is transferrable, and a Firewire/USB 2.0 dock connector cable (not Apple's). My total cost was around $500 including tax, and I'm thinking around $350-400 shipped might be fair. I've still got all original packaging as well as all original accessories. There is one very minor hairline scratch on the back and a small one on the display.
US shipping only, please. Not really looking for trades, unless there's an Xbox 360 premium out there available. Feel free to make other offers of money or trades, but money is my main interest. Payment via Paypal, ships USPS.

I'm guessing that maybe I'm just asking for too much money, so I'm willing to take $300 for this iPod, shipped. Any other offers will be considered, as I'd really like to sell this here instead of eBay.

dmachine, you and I had traded PMs about the iPod, but huhroxy sent payment immediately. The best thing for me to do in that situation is take the cash in hand and send huhroxy the iPod. I apologize for any inconvenience, but I hope you understand my position here. The iPod was posted for sale yesterday with absolutely no interest, so I was eager to make a deal as soon as possible. Shortly after you PMed me for pics, huhroxy contacted me to say she was Paypaling money to me, so I had to go with that sale, lest I lose both potential buyers in delaying, which has happened to me here before.

WOW, I think that is extremely rude and is rediculous. I was going to send the payment right after I saw the pictures. I PMed you 11 minutes before huhroxy posted in the forum and therefore I think that you should honor mine and just put huhroxy on hold until you hear from me.

I don't blame you one bit for being upset. However, I've had sellers drop out on several occasions and I didn't want that to happen on this, especially at a cost of $300. Again, I apologize and hope you can understand where I'm coming from. After getting no responses yesterday at all, I wanted to try and sell it as quickly and easily as possible. huhroxy didn't ask for photos or anything else, just wanted to Paypal me money. I had to look out for myself for fear of having you change your mind. I understand why you're upset, but if your first message had been "I'll Paypal money right now", like huhroxy's was, the iPod would be yours.

No offense, but if I were the seller i'd do the same thing. One person was willing to buy it immediately, you were willing to wait for pictures and buy it if you liked what you saw. Not only is it easier to sell to huhroxy, it is a guaranteed sale unlike you.

Usually when I sell something in this situation, I let the first interested person know that another person is willing to send immediate payment and give the person first in line the oppurtunity to send payment instead of circumventing the first prospective buyer. It's like if you go to a car dealer, see a car that you might want but you want sit inside of it first to make sure you like it, and someone jumps in before you and drives off. It may not be quick business, but it's common courtesy

I understand common courtesy and, like I said, I can understand dmachine's feelings. However, I've been through this before on these boards and it usually turns out that there are a lot of people "interested" in buying stuff, with a lot of people flaking out or deciding they weren't really that "interested". huhroxy was willing to drive up and give me cash for the iPod if necessary, so I decided to go with the sure thing, at the risk of upsetting dmachine. If I had waited, maybe huhroxy finds an iPod on another board and dmachine decides the pics don't meet what he needs. Then I've lost both sales and am back at square one.

i'm sorry to both barrettd and dmachine. i didnt know that anyone else was interested since i didnt see any replies. the reason i jumped and didnt ask for pics is because i didnt want to waste my time sitting around and looking at pictures when i already knew what it looked like. im taking his word about the hairline scratches. just as long as it plays like its supposed to.

Guys/Gals...it's the holiday season right now, lets all forget about this and move on. Barrettd simply did what was best for him and there is no need to question his actions. Happy Holidays everyone! :D :D :D
