Shortcuts Number Bug

If you create a text shortcut with the shortcut being a number (DOB, telephone number, staff number etc) and then you try to enter that number anywhere in iOS (web page, email or any app) it is impossible. The number you input enters incorrectly.

EG: I have created a shortcut of "ss" for my staff number 17898887. However it is now impossible to enter any number beginning 1789 anywhere in iOS. As you as you type the first few numbers, the actual number you select does not display. EG enter 1789 and it will enter 178& or 1787 or 178£ and you have to constantly go back and correct it.

I can reproduce the error on any iOS 7 device. It never happened before upgrading.

I created a shortcut ss which is equal to "12345". If I open text messages and type ss it suggests "12345". If I start typing 12345 by hand it works also. Am I missing something?

Thanks for taking the time to try this.

Oddly I created what you have and it works. IE 12345

Please delete this shortcut and create another for ss and use this number 168302

Then try and type 168

EDIT: In fact any number that is not 12345… etc

I'm afraid it is still working fine for me. I wonder if it's an issue with UK keyboard vs US keyboard?

Shortcuts Number Bug

I don't have the problem on either my iPad 3 or iPhone 5s, both on 7.0.4. I'm also using the US English keyboard, if that matters.

I don't think you understand what I'm telling you.

If you go to settings > general > keyboard you can change the keyboard layout. Change yours to US English temporarily from UK from there and then test your bug again. If it's no longer there its an issue with the UK keyboard.
