I have a 500mhz iBook G3 logic board (AS-IS) (I think it has 128mb of ram builtin) and a 256mb stick of RAM (will be here tomorrow) from an iBook G3 I'd like to sell, make me and offer.

Payment by PayPal or Money Order, USPS or UPS shipping, great feedback on eBay and many references here on MR. :)

Could build a cheap machine out of that, perhaps...

I assume it's in working order? Any idea if I'll need a battery and AC adapter just to give it power?

What are you expecting to get for it? I might be interested, assuming you got a reasonable price range.

I could also definitely use a iBook G3 mobo handy just in case.

EDIT: Good jeebus these things are expensive. You're better off getting a good computer at that rate. Here's to hoping you post a reasonable offer!

A new logicboard from PBfixit (http://www.pbfixit.com/cart/customer/product.php?productid=344&cat=&page=1) is $200, now considering mine is AS IS and I have not tested it (last i knew it was in working order) I'll let it go for $100? Price is flexible of course.

It is in working order, as I gutted it for him and tested it along the way. You could patch into the DC board if you had the right wattage, but I'd say getting a 45 or 60 watt AC adaptor would be easier. You never need a battery to run a computer, but for a webserver iBook batteries are gods :D

You sure? I just pulled out my sister's iBook's battery and tried running it off the power supply alone, but it didn't turn on.

Anyhow, $100 is completely reasonable. It's what I wanted to offer. I'll give it some thought, as in a few months. I'm wondering if I have a use for it, and if I do, if I have the time to work on it.

if you need an adaptor, you could buy one off of ebay...
