Do I need a monitor/KB/Mouse for a mini?

I currently have a a MBP and am considering getting a mini and adding it to my network as an always on server to run a few VMs using Fusion. If I hook it up to my airport can I access it from my MBP and install the applications etc I need and monitor it?

Aside from needing a kb, mouse, and monitor for initially setting it up, you can use the built in screen sharing (part of back to my mac) to do everything.
