I want to know who has a portable blu ray with their mini.

I sold my quad core 2012 1.96 tb fusion mini yesterday along with an apple dvd player.. So I went and got a new 2012 quad core today no fusion just the stock hdd. I need an external dvd drive and I figured I would ask who has an external blu ray drive with their mini along with what software for it.

I use the Blu-Ray Player for Mac with a blank external and put into that a standard computer Blu-Ray drive.

I use a Samsung SE-506BB/TSBD 6X USB2.0 External Slim Blu-ray Writer Drive from Amazon --- $85.00.

Works well.

I just plugged it into my Mac Mini - when a Blu-ray disk is inserted I process it with Make MKV (then Handbrake). Never a hiccup.

I do not watch Blu-ray disks on my computer.

Works fine for my needs.

I have the same drive...the software included is only for PCs

yeah I thought it was pc only. I have a samsung for a pc and it uses that software. do you have any picks for mac software for blu ray.

Just got the cheapest, I guess like 18£ on ebay.co.uk and it works excellent. I use it with Mac Blu Ray Player and MakeMKV, work excellent, and I will give a try now with Free Mac Blu Ray Player.

I bought this one (current price $40) about six months ago. At that time, it was priced around $31 with $6 shipping.

Like QWERTYMac7, I do not view Blu-ray discs with the player. I also rip with the MakeMKV/Handbrake combination.

Oddly, my unit shows up as a Pioneer drive, not Panasonic/Matsushita guts. Doesn't seem to make a difference though.
