Hey everyone,

My friend wants to switch to Macs and wants to start off with a G3 iBook.

Price is a big factor, and I'm trying to get him a good deal on a nice computer. He definitely wants a G3 iBook (white, not clamshell).

Idea specs (not set in stone really) are:

iBook G3 500Mhz+ (600, 700, 800-etc.)
Not sure about RAM, we could upgrade so that's not a problem.
10GB HD+, again I could upgrade it so no biggie
Perhaps have airport, we could buy a card, but one with one would be better.
Fair condition. Case outside can be scratched, maybe even a small crack...computer needs to work though.
Few dead pixels are OK, prefer none or a low # though of course.

Anyway, if you would please post your iBook specs and asking price including shipping to Oneida, NY [ZIP=13421] that would be great, and I'll run the offers by him.

*If he decides he wants one, I'll buy it from you, not him, so you can trust me. I hate it when people make you deal with their friend's cousin's father's brother instead of them. I'll send the payment and have you ship it to me, etc. :)*

Ryan

Why not do what I did and just get an 800 that'll last you longer:

Plus if you buy from that guy, as you know ITASOR, if there's something wrong he'll replace it :).

I've dealt with PowerBook Guy (http://powerbookguy.com). Nice to deal with :).

EDIT: On his website (http://powerbookguy.com/newibook.html), I found a nice iBook for $450. There's a bunch there :).

Amen, Daniel is a nice guy, no hassle with my return either, explained the problem and he said just ship it back and he'll send me a replacement :) good thing I saved the box and invoice.

Yeah, Powerbookguy is great, I've bought a few things from him. I will run the idea by my friend, but I think he was looking to spend a tad less than that perhaps...we'll see.

Lilstewart92: Send me the specs of the iBook, a few nice overall pictures of it, and a price including shipping. I think he might be interested on that, and if not I might. :)

Heh, go ahead and offer clamshells as well. He would be interested in anything cheap, so if clamshells are what he can get, it's better than Windows XP!!! :p

If i were you i'd ask him if he could wait til Jan 2006 when it's rumored the intel books will be released. Even if he doesn't wnat an intel one the older books will drop in price, especailly the G3 since there will be 2 chip revisions ahead of it. i would ask him to wait, he's waited this long whats another couple weeks.
