Hey guys, picked up a nice 800mhz iBook G4 for £20 last week, which I have since maxed out the RAM and upgraded the 10 years old failing hard drive .
Anyway, I've also got an AirPort extreme card but inserting it causes the laptop to make a boot chime, but nothing more; no display, no spinning hard drive etc. My guess is that the AirPort socket is probably dead and is causing some kind of short circuit on the logic board.
So, are there any alternatives to get WiFi on this old G4? Perhaps a USB device known to work?
I'm running 10.5.8 Leopard if it helps!
Thanks!
