Prior to Mavericks, when I wanted to attached a photo to an email or upload one to, say, Facebook, whatever the mechanism there was for the OS to get to the photo defaulted to my "Download" folder, which is where I wanted it to go. It was almost instantaneous.

Now, after installing Mavericks, when I want to attach a photo, the process takes longer, I get a few seconds of spinning beachball, and then I am at first directed to MEDIA in the left hand column of Finder, where my choices are Music, Photos, Movies, and then after about 10 seconds, I see a list of my other folders, where I can choose the download folder.

I don't want that. I want it to go first to the Download folder. How do I make the change so that happens?

Thanks!
