the 2.5-GHz Power Mac G5 Quad ($9,522 direct, $7,023 without monitor)

What's with that price. What exactly does that include?

The Quad starts at $3299

nVidia Quadro FX 4500 is a $1650 add on

4 GB of RAM is $1000 from Apple, no one would pay this. Buy after market

1024 GB of HD is a $800 add on, you can get this outside of Apple as well.

Aside from the graphics card, you can ditch the rest of the upgrades and get it cheaper elsewhere.

Actually the add on price is pretty competitive. Buying the nVidia Quadro FX 4500 third party Mac or PC, you are looking at $2000 for the graphics card. I do admit that it is overkill for 99.99% of the population out there but I sure there's a handful of people who can benefit from having it.
