As anyone tried the Crucial Ballistix memory stick with speed 1866/7, or any other brand with the same speed 1866/7 and with a total of 16GB RAM...32GB RAM?

I've tried the Kingston Hyper X. It will run at 1867 in the 2011 Mini and at 1600 in the 2012 one.

To be clear, are you saying that putting the Kingston Hyper X - 1867 in the late 2012 Mac Mini achieved only a 1600 speed? Also wondered why it would work in the 2011 Mac Mini!

Does it really run at that speed, or is it just identified correctly in the About this Mac window?

these sticks have been thoroughly tested. the kingston 1866 really works on a 2011 mini due to the sandy bridge cpu. apple does not allow it to work on the 2012 mini. there are old threads with real demos and examples that show a 2011 running at 1866 speed.

BTW most work does not benefit with 1866 but a handful of stuff is quicker.
